For those of you living under a rock, or just don't care, this video game system requires more than the average couch potato. The controller is wireless, and it senses even the smallest movements. To race we put the controller in a wheel and drive just like you would a car. For bowling, you stand up and, with controller in hand, make the same motion you would if you were bowling in real life. For baseball, grab on with two hands, watch for the pitch, and swing.
The kids love it! Well after the kids went to bed, Natalie and I decided we would play a few tennis matches against each other. We played for about an hour. Now either we are out of shape, or this stuff really works, because we were actually sweating a bit when we were done. Not buckets by any means, but it was more of a workout than just sitting there. We quit because it was late and Natalie had to go to bed (not me, graveyards right now).
The next day was our busy Monday (see previous posting). Natalie and the kids were gone. I woke up and decided to play a computer game for a bit. I sat down and reached for the mouse. OUCH!! what in the world was wrong with my shoulder? Holy cow it hurt. I tried stretching it out without success. Man alive, what it the world, did I sleep funny on my shoulder? As I continued stretching and swinging my arm around, I mimicked a familiar motion. The motion of a forehand swing on Wii tennis. As the wave of pain ripped through my shoulder, it was like a tuning fork had been struck. That was it. That was where it pain was coming from. This was from the Wii. Well as the day went by, I seemed to have a need for my right arm, and I was constantly reminded of last nights festivities.
I sent a text message to my sweet wife telling her about my decrepit body. When she texted me back, I found out that she was suffering from the same malady. Well a few days have passed and I still have a stiff shoulder. I did some internet searching and found out that the official term of our condition is, Wiiitis. Funny that there is an official condition for it.

We will play tennis again, but maybe we will build our Wii muscles a bit more before we try to play for an hour straight.
