Iron Man(PG-13)
Andy
Natalie
We went to see Iron Man on Friday night. At first it was planned that just Brian and I would go, we were going to meet Lance and Mikey there. It was my last day shift so I got to listen to the movie show on KSL. I thought the movie was going to be good. But much to my surprise it got 4 stars all around from both Doug and Steve. Natalie and I had a texting frenzy, and it was decided that (due to the review) the boys would be joined by Kallie and Natalie. Now the review;
"Tony Stark is the son of genius industrialist Hugh Stark who helped develop the first atomic weapons (according to the story) and eventually when Tony matured, he took over as head of the company. Tony’s a loner who has developed a new weapons system called Jericho. A recent test firing in the Middle East has gone well, but his convoy is ambushed on the way back and Stark is abducted by the enemy. His only value to them is for him to re-create the Jericho weapon, but instead he’s developing an escape plan that includes the rudimentary idea of an armor plated soldier with defense capabilities - more like a heavy metal man. " - From KSL.COM
Since this points it out so well, I will explain Natalie's ranking being short one star. Natalie didn't like how realistic the Middle East stuff was. And I admit that in the world we live in today, and with a man as genius as Tony Stark, the events are totally plausible. So for Natalie it was just a bit realistic.
Any who, after Tony saves himself, he retreats to his mansion. With endless money, and all of the fancy gizmo's and gadgets that he has already made, (the nerd / tech junkie in me loved this part of the move), we get to watch Tony improve on his Iron Man suit and all the testing that occurs.
This movie has action, comedy, and wonderful special effects. And it unleashed that boyish imagination where I explore all the "what-ifs?" and imagine and dream that about what it would be like to be the Iron Man.
It's making money like its going out of style, and has been such a success that I have read that the studio has already signed up for Ironman 2. Kallie thought the movie was scary, but today when she saw my Ironman desktop wallpaper, she wanted to go see the movie. Kallie kept asking to see the Transformers. Apparently she thought that the man was a transformer when he changed from man to Ironman. And Brian, has asked me when we get to see the movie again as well.
I will definitely be buying this movie, for myself and my little boy. I would say this is my favorite movie that has come out since Transformers.
