Mamma Mia!, The Review

MAMMA MIA!

RATED PG-13

Yesterday Natalie and I were able to make it to the movies. It was exciting for us because there were two movies playing that we have been looking forward to seeing for a long time. So in true Andy and Nat style, we saw both. That's right a double header!

Last year, Natalie and I went and saw Mamma Mia! the play. We had an incredible time, so naturally we were excited when the movie was announced.

I will give you a brief run down of the story line. Sophie (the girl on the poster with the flowers) is getting married. Sophie was raised by her single mother her entire life. Sophie wants her father to be at her wedding, but she doesn't know who he is. Sophie stumbles on her mothers diary, and finds out that she has three possible dads. Sophie sends wedding invites to all of the potential fathers. All three guys accept the invitation and come for the wedding. Sophie's mother freaks out when all of her past boyfriends show up. And the results are fantastic.

The first thing I liked about this movie was how true to the play it stayed. This movie was almost verbatim to the play. I loved the ABBA music, again. Of course I have been listening to the soundtrack for a year now, since the play.

This is a really funny movie/play. One of my favorite things was actually listening to the audience during the movie. I just remember how outrageously funny the jokes were to me, and I loved witnessing peoples first time reactions to some of the stuff here. I had just as much fun watching the movie as I did the play. Natalie said she enjoyed the movie more than the play. It was fun to see everything occurring on an actual island instead of a stage. This movie just added to my addiction for ABBA's music.

Both Natalie and I knocked of 1/2 a star because of the sexual innuendos. So this definitely earns it's PG-13 rating.

I would see this movie again in a heartbeat. And Natalie is already talking about seeing it again. We loved it!

Okay, after that review this movie is definitely next on our list. You didn't mention the other movie in your double header. We took Meg to the drive in to see Wall-E which, with how much she has talked about it, she would give 4 stars. Brian and I went to see the new Batman movie. We both really liked it. The joker was the best. I think we like the previous one a little better though.

LOL, sorry I am slow. I am a thinker, so it takes me a while to articulate my blogs. I always wanna get it just right. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail. Sorry about the slow post on Batman
